Forums like this fill with users like you, angry, dumping the phone, and comparing how little the can get for it on craigslist. $150? If you’re lucky.

You’ll never buy a Samsung product again. Samsung has hired a PR firm to try to hide the real problems you and thousands of others are having with the phone.

This is real.

Do some research on the Samsung Behold II. This is Samsung’s business model.
1) Shiny new phone with promised updates
2) Wait… there’s no money in supporting a phone, only in selling new ones.
3) Refuse promised updates on under plainly false pretenses.
4) Go to step 1.
5) Profit.

Please, do not buy this or any other Samsung phone. HTC and Apple make nice phones that they support. Tell your friends.

I think one often sees the final animated work and forgets about the many unseen heros behind the scenes. This exhibition pays tributes to the many artists that made the final animation a reality. I have to agree that more pieces of artworks could be put up and the 'do you know' or 'have you notice' section may be more interactive rather than the few computer screens showing interviews. But you cannot deny the artworks are stunning, showing the process and development of a character. And yes, I skipped the end part showing our local 'talents' cos they are just such disappointment. Animation is not just about learning 3D softwares. It takes years of hardwork to learn the art of animation.

By the way, I am disappointed that you have ignored the 'NO PHOTOGRAPHY' signs and took photos and even put it up on your blog. I think if we love Pixar for what they have done, we should respect their rights for protecting their intellectual property.

If you want to blame anything, it's the advertising. I felt it was rather hyped up, so most people didn't understand. It's like "It's Pixar! Wee!!" and then when people go, they get all disappointed they aren't seeing some pretty polished product. *sigh*

In my opinion the exhibit's more for the animators in singapore and the budding 3D animation industry. It's a behind the scenes type of thing and it's definitely not all guts and glory. It's actually rather darned boring most of the time, and it's years of hard work and lost time with loved ones. Every single thing, even little stick figures, is an exploration to further push a character, its animation and the set, else they'll just end up as blah normal stuff that don't make sense at all. Then who's going to complain eh? They're just displaying what they did, that's what a exhibition is for.

BTW Easter eggs are really an afterthought compared to the basics, or just a simple reuse of assets. It's easy to bring into a scene and rearrange something you already got rather than to spend time (which means money) making something else like it to put there. So it's highly unlikely they're going to make a space for Easter eggs, really... despite the fact that it's very interesting to the audiences.

in my opinion, i think singaporeans are cultured in a way that they appreciate american-accented english music.

so sometimes it doesn't go down well with most listeners to hear local songs sung with a malay twang or chinese tongue.

next up, in an age of R&B and dance pop, guitar-driven music around the world is taking a huge blow. same goes for local guitar-driven music, considering we have tons of bands out there just struggling to get heard.

these days, the new media market is screwing things up a bit too. people are downloading stuff (for free most of the time), watching the good stuff they want to watch on youtube and all that. it's really tough for local bands to cut it.

the standards of musicianship (i.e. dumbed down pop music with dance or r&b flavour) and performance and aesthetics are raised so high it's really difficult for local acts to make a name for themselves.

the only critical mass of supporters you're gonna get are from the black skinny jeans-weaing, thick-framed spectacled lean-bodied indie youths.

support for local music has never been strong, even in the 90s. singaporeans are a tough crowd and aren't supportive on the whole. a local act will have to break their breaks many times over to win the over-rationalised singaporean's dollar and support.

hell, i'm a musician myself and i make guitar-driven band music, and i have lots of faith in my ability and songwriting craft. but i guess i'm just doing the wrong thing, at the wrong place, at the wrong time, in the wrong life. it hurts, so for consolation, just get all the paper qualifications i can get and chase the 5 c's, because i know that music may barely put food on the table and may do jack for a retirement plan.

Thailand = in Thai
Indonesia = in Indonesian
Japan = in Japanese

Singapore = in English/Mandarin

For English, the acts are competing with the likes from US/UK and pretty much the whole world, unless local musicians are up there, otherwise, supporting local music for the sake of doing it is pretty much futile
